The South Caribbean isn’t the place to make a second income from renting out an investment property since rental rates haven’t reached anywhere near what they have on the Pacific Coast and in the Central Valley. Simply enough, demand is lower and on the lower end of the rate scale. Plenty of cute little hotels and cabins can be found in the area, but overall it’s still mainly a haunt for young students, backpackers, surfers, and the more adventurous or philosophical expatriates. You can expect hotels to charge anything from a few dollars to about $150 a night for a jungle lodge. Home rentals in the area at the time of research where going for a few hundred dollars a week.
