There is isn’t much in the Central Pacific when it comes to services like hospitals and education, so those individuals and families looking for choice may want to consider living in the Central Valley.
1. Private Schools
This part of the country has never been a big family destination, so private school options are few. Colegio Los Delfines, in Paquita and within driving distance of Quepos and Manuel Antonio, is a bilingual school that offers to teach students kindergarten through high school.
2. Private Hospitals
There are no private hospitals in the Central Pacific. The nearest is the CIMA hospital in Escazú, in the Central Valley. Public hospitals in Quepos and Puntarenas would serve in case of emergency, while private clinics in Jacó and Manuel Antonio can deal with smaller problems and emergency transport services.
3. Dentists
The best and biggest choice of private dental surgery is found in the San José area and many expatriates living in the Central Pacific travel to the Central Valley for their appointments, though there are a few practices in Jacó and Quepos.
